freeview

Aerial Services are specialists in all aspects of Freeview installation for Watford, Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.

The digital switchover took place in 2012 and since then all TV signals in the UK have been broadcast with digital quality. This has improved the viewing and listening experience for many viewers in Hertfordshire and provided Freeview in some areas like St Albans, Amersham, Borehamwood and Rickmansworth for the first time.

In order to receive a reliable and stable digital TV signal you will need a digital TV aerial and a TV with Freeview already installed (sometimes referred to as IDTV – Integrated Digital TV) or a Freeview box which is standalone and separate from the TV.

If you don’t have a digital compatible aerial then don’t worry, we can help you. We have access to the very latest digital TV aerial equipment and even if you are in a poor signal area we will be able to help you.

We can install your new Freeview-compatible digital aerial together with all the fittings and brackets required at a competitive price so that you can enjoy all that Freeview has to offer.

Freesat

Freesat launched in 2007 and is a similar service to Freeview except you will need a satellite dish rather than a TV aerial to receive the signal. Like Freeview there is no contract or monthly bill and it is still the UK’s only subscription –free satellite service.

With over 200 TV and radio channels to choose from, including all the terrestrial channels, there is plenty of choice for the viewer and with an increasing number of HD channels, the viewing and listening experience is improving all the time.

In order to watch Freesat you will need a TV with an inbuilt Freesat tuner or a standalone Freesat box. There’s a great range of Freesat boxes to choose from and they are all packed with great features:

  • Freesat HD – over 200 channels to choose from including HD content
  • Freesat+HD – same as above but also includes an inbuilt hard drive recorder to pause and rewind live TV
  • Freesat+HD Freetime – Over 200 channels, hard drive recorder and Smart functionality with highly popular Catchup and On Demand services.
  • Freesat is a very popular service and it can be a great alternative to Freeview, especially in areas of the country where TV aerial signals are a bit patchy. The range of features also makes it a versatile and attractive product.
